Green is as green does, and Dwell on Design was doin' it and doin' it and doin' it well all weekend long in downtown LA.
Dwell on this...
Space pods aglow with eco-friendly LEDs, poolside-ready cabanas with every indulgent fixin, huggable plastic bouncers for your design-conscious rugrat, iconic California pottery and museum collected tableware, tents bigger than your apartment (and with a cuter bathtub), green-outfitted reclaimed spaces auctioned live on eBay, convertible tables that swing out with wings, convertible Teslas with glowing flux capacitors, stamped Charley Harper prints, large canvas pocket planters, wood washed walls, Dr. Seuss trees, space age moss, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more fabulous finds.
Anthony Kiedis and a glowing Rick Rubin wandered the Dwell Outdoor Living exhibit peeking into a 'Reclaimed Space' that was keenly and greenly decorated with sustainable and recycled products. Next door, the Swiss-Army deluxe model Airstream offered a mobile solution to your silver bullet needs, and just beyond the horizon lived a 530 sq ft tent with hardwood floors and an elegant bathroom (say hello to our dream housing sponsor for LA.COM @ BONAROO 2010!)
Expo sponsors CB2 handed out heavy canvas totes and hinted about their fall line of "back to basics" with woods, whites and natural elements making their way to Sunset & Laurel (former home of Virgin Megastore, current home of CB2 and Trader Jo's) around mid-July.
