Minibar offers tasty tapas and cool cocktails on Cahuenga Boulevard—but far north of the Hollywood hootenanny.

Instead of bumping valet stands with hotspots like White Lotus and Tokio, Minibar is actually on the border of Hollywood and Studio City, so it has that laid-back Valley vibe with a splash of LA hip. The colors are a mod combo of brown, turquoise and orange; the soundtrack veers from ambient-techno to funk; the staff is fun and frolicky. Whatever your mood, there's a space: a bar and lounge strewn with booths and box tables, a dining room with more traditional seating, and a private "treehouse" room that's wallpapered with leaves and trunks. The menu spans the globe with small bites like fennel-crusted lamb chops, Jamaican jerk chicken, duck confit eggrolls and golden puffy yucca bread with smoked gouda—and nothing is priced over $14. Add to that an interesting wine and beer list (Moretti lager from Italy and Mickey's Big Mouth?).
