Perennially packed with Koreatown locals, this studio offers private rooms for those with an off-key song in their heart.

The first notable thing about Rosen Music Studio is that the doors are locked and there's no one outside. Don't fret: The real entrance is around the back, as is the cheap, safe parking lot. Inside, private karaoke rooms vary in size and price. The smallest, which accommodate about three people, cost $20 per hour, and the largest room runs for $60 an hour. A private room comes complete with a big screen, a wireless keypad, a couple of red tambourines, and a songbook (in both Korean and English) with karaoke-rrific offerings from the Sex Pistols to Boyz II Men. Open from 10am until 4am daily, Rosen also offers a full menu of Korean food and drinks. (Sure, they've got BBQ beef, but wouldn't a plate of chicken gizzards and dried blowfish be a better match for butchered Kelly Clarkson?) A shot of Johnny Walker Blue: $25. Amateur cover of Cyndi Lauper's "She Bop" in Korean: priceless. —Amir Kenan
