The dining room is good, the food better and the garden patio even better at this Westside classic.

Once draped in mauves and paisleys as if huddling in Grandma's favorite blanket, Il Moro has recently embraced a new, more polished palette of dark woods, leather and copper accents thanks to Chaya designer Jeffrey Daniels. The more chic motif dovetails with the restaurant's expanded hours: That warm-blanket look would've put diners right back to sleep at a 6:30am breakfast. Soup and salad starters include a chicken broth with braised beef-filled pasta or a baby spinach salad with goat cheese, tomato, pine nuts and lemon dressing. The long list of pastas cover all the basics; less carb-y entrees include selections like French-cut pork chops and a marinated chicken breast with garlic sauce served with fig chutney, grilled polenta and spinach. The lovely happy hour (Mon-Fri 5pm-7pm) offers discounted wines and a bar blanketed with free appetizers.
