Angelique CafeA Downtown delight that's now open Sundays ![]() With its French-countryside yellows and blues, this little gem shines brightly in Downtown's Fashion District.Long before it was too utterly cool to be Downtown, chef and owner Bruno Herve-Commereuc and his wife Florence brought a taste of Paris to the 'hood. For breakfast, crepes, croissants, omelets and caf au lait, Angelique is hard to beat. Lunch or early dinner (it closes at 4pm) brings the stalwarts of casual bistro fare: steak frites, roast lamb, quiche Lorraine, escargots and duck confit. Vegetarians seem to appreciate the options like eggplant and tomato casserole. For dessert, apple tart with Calvados, an apple-flavored liquor, is the correct answer. —Lesley Balla
