Zen-sexy decor, stylish cuisine and a buzzing, beautiful crowd have helped this longstanding favorite remain one of the trendiest sushi spots in town.

With feng-shui elements like fire, water and natural stone incorporated throughout, the dining room and sushi bar have that early-'00s look that started a huge trend (thanks, Dodd Mitchell). The California touch is apparent in every dish, where local ingredients like jalapeno peppers might spice up the Asian fare. The sake and beer list is varied, including Red Sun, a beer specially brewed for Sushi Roku; specialty cocktails include the watermelon martini and the "Roppongi," a mixture of vodka and sake served with a ginger stick. This is just one of four locations: The Santa Monica location has views of the ocean, the Pasadena outpost serves studio honchos, and another outpost recently opened in Las Vegas.
