    Parking: Don't park in the McDonald's parking lot. There's some free street parking along Fountain and Commonwealth Aves.

    Tips: The Kitchen is the perfect before- or after-drinking spot, since it's open late and near Tiki Ti and Akbar.

This little canteen has a loyal following who swear by its comfort food and shabby-chic attitude. Exposed brick walls form two dining rooms that can get crowded at peak hours. Several delicious options are available for lunch and dinner; service goes by Silver Lake standards: it's pretty hit or miss. Take The Kitchen with a grain of salt...your tofu will need it.
