Crashing waves on a rocky shore: Always a welcome accompaniment to dinner and drinks.

Moonshadows has finally found a groove after some changes; the parking lot is full each time we drive by, so we're not the only ones who think so. The space is comfortable, with amazing views of the crashing waves just beneath the windows. The lounge is pleasant for afternoon cocktails and a light nosh; the main dining room offers modern American fare presented by chef Joachim Weritz. We can vouch for the seafood chowder, the fresh broiled salmon and the ahi tuna, and the steaks and service are equally reliable. And did we mention the crashing waves? —Lesley Balla
