Taix French RestaurantFrench food as your grandparents remember it ![]() An anomaly in funky Echo Park, Taix is an old-fashioned French restaurant that epitomizes the word "fancy."Waiters are pleasantly obsequious and sauces are old-school. With plush pleather booths and pretty paintings on the wall, it's the sort of place to take your parents, especially if they're not so sure about your living on the Eastside. The three courses of food, usually involving French onion soup, are relatively inexpensive; the bar ordinarily attracts a younger generation than the dining room. The big screens show LA sports in the daytime and live music from neighborhood bands fills the space in the evening.
