La ParrillaA fantastic spot for your deep fried Mexican wants. ![]()
A Valley branch of the favorite original in East Los Angeles (several others have also followed), this La Parrilla makes the same marvelous Mexican food: handmade tortillas, fresh salsa thick with onions and cilantro and various excellent seafood dishes. Try the deep-fried red snapper topped with a light tomato-olive sauce, camarones al mojo de ajo (garlicky shrimp) and a seafood stew for two. Pozole and tamales are made fresh on weekends. There are no mariachis here, like at the original, but some nice solo Mexican guitar occasionally on weekends. --Gayot.com
