In the '50s and '60s, Jean Leon's La Scala was the fine-dining Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills, and La Scala Boutique was its casual cousin next door.

Although the original location now houses Enoteca Drago a few doors down, this newer incarnation of La Scala is still the place for one of the best chopped salads in LA, which only tastes better when eaten from a deep seat in a red vinyl booth. There is one must-know item on the menu: The signature Leon includes chopped lettuce, garbanzo beans, mozzarella and pastrami.
