Surrounded by high-end shops and medical buildings, the former Mamounia almost gets lost among the Robertson Boulevard storefronts. That makes it even more of a discovery once you go inside.

The space isn't huge, and the tables from its previous incarnation have been heightened to waist level. The menu has several prix-fixe options, from the "Fez" (a selection of Moroccan salads, bastilla and choice of entre, baklavah and tea) to the "Abdessamad" (an opulent traditional feast that requires at least a week's notice). There are belly dancers, Henna tattoo artists and other entertainment options for parties.
