A French bistro and American steakhouse are all wrapped up in one Grove favorite.

Downstairs, the French cafe looks authentic (were it not in an outdoor mall!), with a classic tile floor and tables spilling out onto the sidewalk. It's an ideal spot for crepes, salade Lyonnaise, French onion soup, chilled shellfish platters and moules marinieres. The more formal dining room upstairs—decked out like a clubby steakhouse with lots of mahogany accents and linen-laden tables—offers heartier fare like prime aged beef with rich bearnaise or morel mushroom sauces. Plus, the terrace offers a great bird's-eye view of the madness below. An extensive selection of artisanal cheeses, both domestic and European, is offered on both levels; there's a cheese cave on premises. And the wine selection is top-notch. There are monthly wine and cheese tastings held upstairs on the balcony. Who needs to go to France, anyway? (Okay, we do. But this is cheaper.) —Lesley Balla
