Pizza Buona is the perfect place for Angelenos to fulfill their Jersey fantasies, from the baked pastas to the meatball subs to the Frank Sinatra coming from the speakers.

Customers shouldn’t expect any fusion ingredients at the old-school neighborhood joint, where a request for artichokes as a pizza topping was met with a confused “Dear? This is Pizza Buona.” Instead, they offer up basic toppings and an excellent cheese-to-sauce ratio on the pizzas; we recommend the primavera. The pastas such as baked rigatoni and lasagna are equally basic and equally delicious, and wash down beautifully with a jug of San Antonio Winery’s finest. (Tastes like grape juice. It’s fantastic.) The delicious bread is baked in-house, and the smell of baking starches and bubbling sauces combined with Dino and Frank crooning in the background create the perfect East Coast pizza parlor atmosphere. One really wouldn’t be surprised to see Danny Aiello or Paul Sorvino saunter out from the kitchen, asking if everyone enjoyed themselves.
