Agents are among us: Best not to make any sudden movements. Oh, and know your order before you get to the counter. This is one line of besuited sharks you do not want to hold up.

Where CAA goes, brave restaurateurs follow. Next to the grassy courtyard, which at lunchtime is filled with top agents trying not to get any sod on their extremely expensive shoes, is the entrance to this outpost of the popular Encino spot, not visible from the street but open to anyone who knows it's there. Inside, the walls are completely covered with signs (ordering suggestions! quotes from Warren Beatty!), and the busy room is loud. To one side, three men in designer suits laugh with (not at) the client wearing a T-shirt that says "Muthaf---a." Those women talking about how men can still be immature at 30? Yes, a discreet glance confirms that one of them is Sarah Jessica Parker. And there's lots of shouting—lots of shouting. (The employees continually yell out the number of the order that's ready, even though we were given a number to display at our table and our food was brought to us.) The atmosphere all adds up to a surreal snapshot of Hollywood's machinations for the price of a chili dog. Well, a chili dog and some kinda pricey parking. Kids' meals, sandwiches, burgers, salads and endless hot-dog combinations are also on the menu, but before all that, breakfast is served until 10:30am. —Lonny Pugh
