The Little Next DoorThe Little Door's little sister ![]() Third Street is filled with trendy shops, nonexistent parking and designer restaurants like The Little Door. The latter's little sister, The Little Next Door, is a quaint French market worth the trouble.Standing out on this cluttered street isn't easy; each storefront offers another inventive (if usually overpriced) enticement. The Little Door, in fact, utilized the business to its full advantage, with a sign-free facade that helped maintain a regal exclusivity. But its new royal-blue neighbor, with a bustling patio, hanging plants, walls filled with goodies, and waiters in navy-and-white stripes, distinguishes itself easily. It's all a bit hectic and dishevele, but therein lies its charm. Groups of twentysomethings, chatty locals and eager friends don't seem too hurried. Wines, charcuterie plates and pastries line the tables of those dining in the breezy space; those of the take-and-run persuasion order more than planned from the L-shaped counter. We recommend the greasy but tasty croque monsieur, a fresh barley salad and (yum) the tapioca with lemon curd. Terrines, tapenades and tabouleh are also for sale; the wall opposite the counter is overstuffed with wines and dry sodas. —Lonny Pugh
