Since 1990, Cafe del Rey has been the best place for elegant fusion fare on the marina.

The pastels-and-blonde-wood look of yesteryear gave way to a richer, more contemporary interior, and change has also been afoot in the kitchen; chef Frank Fonda has been replaced by Jason Niedercorn, who once worked in the Aubergine kitchen. But not everything at Cafe Del Rey has changed: A live pianist still appears almost every night at the bar, and that view remains unobstructed from practically every seat in the house. During lunch and weekend brunch, the windows are often open to let in the ocean air.
