Sometimes it's worth braving the crowds, the tourists and the Jack Sparrow impersonator for an opening-night experience at the country's most famous movie palace. But where to eat? Once upon a time, we wouldn't dream of sending our users out in the area on foot, but the Chinese's Hollywood Boulevard environs have recently gotten consistently more walkable. And more tasty. —Lonny Pugh

1.

25 Degrees

Under blessedly dim lights at the front of the Roosevelt hotel, ginormous designer burgers filled with bacon and/or gruyere await. Then there are the fries, with sauces like lemon dill or tarragon remoulade.

2.

Dakota at the Roosevelt Hotel

For a more refined experience involving red meat, the Roosevelt Hotel's other restaurant does the classy-steakhouse thing.

3.

Bella

One of the lesser-designed Dolce Group restaurants (that's not an insult), the relatively small Bella does serviceable Italian favorites on a Hollywood street corner.

4.

Geisha House

This, on the other hand, is not one of the lesser-designed Dolce Group restaurants. See stacked fireplaces, honeycomb walls and roaming geishas.

5.

Lucky Devils

Remember Lucky Vanous, the shirtless Diet Coke hunk in those ubiquitous '90s commercials? He's the titular Lucky who owns this tourist-friendly burger den.

6.

La Cantina

Cheap Mexican eats come with appropriately tasty margaritas and a casual patio.

7.

Miceli's

Let's see, so far we've covered low-key, classy and trendy places. How about super-kitschy old Italian joints where the waitresses sing arias?

8.

Vert

No, the Hollywood & Highland complex isn't (we hope) the first destination springing to mind for a respectable dinner date. But hey, this is run by Wolfgang Puck.

9.

The French Crepe Co.--Hollywood & Highland

All the way atop the Hollywood & Highland complex is a little sister café to the Farmers Market institution that serves quick crepes, croissant sandwiches and cocoa.

10.

Parc

Care for champagne, caviar and a celeb spotting or three? This A-list hotspot is the polar opposite of the H&H scene.

this site is too confusing and not well organized.

you need to have dining by zip code. your dining by neighborhood is too confusing and not very efficient
