The great outdoors is both channeled and effectively walled off on the front patio of Ritual, the large restaurant and nightclub in the former home of White Lotus. Greenery, a waterfall and woodwork make it a pleasant retreat; knocked-down walls in the indoor dining area and large dance floor give a much more opened-up feel.

The ownership is (mostly) the same, and chef Andrew Pastore returns with a menu heavy on meat and seafood. His signature roll, previously a secret offering available only to those who knew to order it, is now right there on the menu, proudly overstuffed with avocado, tuna, caviar, gold flakes, the kitchen sink and more, barely held together with seaweed, sauce and hope. Blackened swordfish sits atop a rather addictive sweet potato crab hash; pepper-crusted filet mignon is served with asparagus tips in a neat tic-tac-toe pattern, pearl onions, oyster mushrooms and a balsamic sweet soy reduction. For dessert, a platter of mini-cupcakes, of course; the classy tea menu, though, is more unexpected. After all this, the owners hope, it's to the large dance floor, where more opportunities to blow cash await at one of four bars. Wednesday nights belong to Made Entertainment and promoters Ryan Silver and Ben Beck; Thursdays to Nic Ryan, Andrew Batey and DJ Matty Matt; Prettyboy Promotions runs Friday nights; and Steve Fowler and Platinum Events take over on Saturdays. —Lonny Pugh
