This charming eatery serves up eclectic specialties both on the plate (grilled shrimp salad, fettuccine alfredo) and onstage in the adjoining lounge.

Thanks to successful promoters, Tangier has become one of the most popular late-night destinations on the Eastside. Each week brings in new quirky, edgy, folky and poppy acts like the Leviathan Brothers, a two-piece jazz combo that covers Lou Reed and Beck songs. Comedy is also on the bill, like the side-splitting "What I Like About Jew." And on Saturdays, DJ Jesse spins top 40, eclectic, hip-hop soul and funk to help burn off those exotic appetizers. While the booths in the main dining room are cozy, the real intimate vibe can be found in the lounge. This is also where the shows take place, so those who want to come for dinner and a gig should make a reservation in advance.
