Weekly Restaurant Specials: SaturdaySo Tagine isn't the easiest on the wallet, but -- for now -- it's the best Saturday special option Have expensive tastes, but not the cash to indulge them? Well, starve no more. We have been scouring the city’s best restaurants for deals that will allow wallets of any thickness enjoy the gourmet meals they so heartily deserve.(Need more options? Please peep the guides for the rest of the week: Monday; Tuesday; Wednesday; Thursday; Saturday; and Sunday.) SATURDAY Tagine: Weekend Prix Fixe Menu While not the cheapest option on this list, Tagine’s surfeit 7-course tasting menu for $38 is certainly one of the most filling, and as an added bonus, it is available Saturday and Sunday evenings, so you can even go there on “date night.” The thing is, it is the only option at Tagine on Saturday and Sunday evenings, so you’d better come hungry for dishes like a hummus, baba ganoush and olive starter, a chopped salad with feta, a flaky cinnamon-and-sugar pastry filled with chicken called “bastilla,” and a tender lamb shank with cauliflower mash. If you’re lucky, you might even spot restaurant co-owner Ryan Gosling gorging himself at the next table.
