A low-key diner in the heart of Hollywood where you can get your eat and drink on at sunrise or sunset.

The strip of Sunset Boulevard that is home to chic eateries Magnolia and The Bowery just got a little cozier with the addition of The Waffle and its Americana menu, heralded by Chef Scooter Kanfer-Cartmill, that is as comforting as it is effective at curing hangovers.

Located in an office building and within walking distance to a handful of hotspots, The Waffle’s location is central to Hollywood’s business and pleasure centers. Open daily from 6:30am until 2am (4:30am on the weekends), the restaurant/bar caters to both the happy hour crowd as well as the late-night drinkers. The Maple Ginger Martini is bar manager Manu’s own special concoction mixed with organic maple syrup and is a cocktail whose taste and fragrance is so soothing that you’ll wish every L.A. bar had it on the menu.  The special Starbucks Liqueur menu is full of great spiked coffee cocktails, in case you stop in for a pick-me-up on your lunch break. The full menu is also available to all bar patrons upstairs, making The Waffle perfect for boozing and brunching. Try the cornmeal jalapeño waffle, a diner and staff fave, served with a boneless chicken breast and collard greens or our personal picks like the perfectly gluttonous French toast and the classic three-egg breakfast. —Stephanie Ocampo
