This bastion of early-'90s sophistication and cuisine somehow never goes out of fancy.

Started by the late chef Michael Roberts (of Trumps fame) and actor Kevin Costner, Twin Palms now features a full New American cuisine menu (transformed from its past French roots). The 450-seat restaurant encompass two enormous palm trees. And the main section of the patio is positioned under full "sails" for the SoCal ambience. (Heaters are available for use on those chillier nights, of course.) That's fine with the crowd of Pasadeans who know this mostly outdoor restaurant for its live music, great happy hour and sophisticated party atmosphere. —LA.com
