Steve Nash surprised to find himself with Lakers

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - Nobody is more surprised to see Steve Nash holding a gold Lakers jersey than the two-time MVP guard himself.

Los Angeles formally welcomed Nash to its training complex Wednesday, a week after reaching a deal to get the superstar point guard from the Suns.

Nash says he never imagined playing for the Lakers during the past 16 years spent in fierce rivalries with this glamorous franchise. Now he's eager to run pick-and-rolls with Kobe Bryant.

Shaquille, funny videos to star in truTV series

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Cable channel truTV is putting Shaquille O'Neal on its team with a new series.

The channel said Wednesday that it's ordered 10 episodes of "Upload with Shaquille O'Neal," the working title for a series with the basketball star. Actors and comics Gary Owen and Godfrey will join O'Neal on the show.

The trio, along with a weekly guest, will share funny videos they find online and create their own, truTV said. Pranks and pop culture parodies also will be part of the mix.

In a statement, O'Neal promised "Upload" will "deliver big laughs." A debut date for the series was not announced.


Courtney Love's rep denies ex-assistant's claims

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Courtney Love's publicist is disputing claims by the rocker's former assistant that she is owed unpaid wages and was subjected to unethical requests such as instructing her to hire a hacker and falsify legal letters.

the wrongful termination, wage and breach of contract lawsuit in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

"The allegations are completely unfounded and are being made with malice by a disgruntled former employee," Love's publicist Steve Honig said in a statement released Wednesday.

The suit states Labrie worked as Love's administrative assistant for about a year in 2010 and 2011, but was fired after complaining she was owed thousands in unpaid wages and expenses for business trips. The lawsuit also claims Labrie suffered from headaches, insomnia and other medical conditions as a result of Love's conduct.

Labrie's attorney, Joshua Gruenberg, says Love wanted a hacker to change records to businesses she owned or believed she owned, but Labrie refused.

Gabor's husband appointed temporary conservator

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband will serve as her temporary conservator under an agreement reached with the ailing actress' daughter and approved by a judge Wednesday.

Attorneys announced a settlement between Frederic von Anhalt, Gabor's husband of 25 years, and her daughter Constance Francesca Hilton during a hearing. Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz approved the provisions, which call for financial oversight by several attorneys and allow Hilton to visit with her mother weekly.

care. He smiled after his appointment and outside the courthouse declared "Victory!" and said he was happy with the outcome.

Hilton said she came to court, "to protect my mother and me."

Gabor's husband and daughter have argued for years as each has accused the other of financial mismanagement related to Gabor's wealth. Hilton asked to be named her mother's conservator in March and said she was concerned the actress wasn't being properly treated.

A doctor who evaluated the star a few weeks later determined that Gabor's well-being is closely tied to her remaining in a familiar environment.

Goetz said that a conservatorship was necessary for Gabor and set a January 9 hearing for an update on the how the agreement was working.

Hilton's attorney Kenneth Kossoff said he is cautiously optimistic the arrangement will work, and he will now receive monthly statements on Gabor's finances and will be able to review her medical files.

Gabor, a Hungarian-born sexpot of the 1950s and 1960s, has been in declining health and didn't make an appearance at a February birthday party hosted at her mansion.
