Somehow, it got done.
Lindsay Lohan and crew have wrapped filming on the Lifetime Channel "Liz and Dick," E! Online reported Wednesday.
"We have wrapped principal photography on Liz and Dick and Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler's performances are picture-perfect," producer Larry Thompson told E! News. "The cinematic drama of the Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton love story which unfolds on screen is much more exciting and everlasting than the drama during production that took place off screen."
That remains to be seen. The film premieres on Nov. 3, by which time we will likely have forgotten the off-screen drama that emerged during the shoot, which included Lohan driving a rented Porsche into the back of a garbage truck on the Pacific Coast Highway (and landing her assistant to the hospital), and a scary incident in which paramedics were called in when Lohan was discovered unconscious in her hotel room (she was just exhausted, her reps said).
Lohan, who turned 26 on Monday, posted a grateful note on Twitter on Tuesday.
"Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Also -- that's a wrap on Liz and Dick -- thank you to all my fans, crew members, friends and Lifetime!"
Thompson said there was a wrap/birthday celebration on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, complete with a cake built in the shape of a pyramid and bearing the message, "Happy Birthday to the Queen of the Nile" (referencing Taylor's Cleopatra performance).
