What do celebrities want for Valentine’s Day? If you ask Doris Bergman, the answer is simple: they want swag!

So every year Bergman puts on her “Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Style Lounge & Party” (this was the sixth year) well before Oscar Week begins in Hollywood. Doing her gifting lounge early allows the stars to collect a few choice items before all the hustle and bustle of that busy week; and maybe even to find the perfect Valentine’s gift along the way, too.

The revelry lasted all day on February 13 at the Fig & Olive restaurant on Melrose Place, as the crowd formed early and stayed late. It certainly helped that the Veved Ice Vodka and Tequila Azul Imperial flowed freely all day and the eatery kept the food coming, but mostly it was all about the scene out on the patio.

That’s where host sponsor Begley’s and Bill’s poured their tasty “100% all natural sodas” (and yes, actor Ed Begley is one of the principals of that company) and presenting sponsor Whitening Lightning handed out kits filled with products to help keep the stars’ smiles bright and white. Angela Basset and her hubby Courtney B. Vance scooped those right up, while Oscar winner Louis Gossett, Jr., discussed the benefits of having a bespoke custom suit made by Waraire Boswell Executive Men’s Clothiers with Boswell himself.

Tommy Chong and Cheech Marin loved their Baron Panama hats, imported directly from Ecuador by Mark Mejia, while 2014 Best Makeup Oscar nominee Robin Mathews (up for “Dallas Buyers Club”) checked out Jacki Curcio’s top-of-the-line La Curcio Skincare Collection offerings. Lisa Ann Walter cooed over the sexy Single dresses that were up for grabs and Ileana Douglas coveted the sparkly Ooh La Bra designer bra straps.

Eartha Kitt’s daughter Kitt Shapiro reminisced about her talented mother as she explained the products in her Simply Eartha lifestyle line. “My mom used to have so many great words of advice,” she recalled, “I just want to share them with the world.” Shapiro sells a line of soy candles, pillows and other home goods emblazoned with Eartha’s favorite sayings, and she’s just added a new collection of silver bangle bracelets. “Don’t panic” and “Never miss an opportunity to shut up” are two of our favorite Kitt-isms.

Other favorites at the gifting lounge were the hot new rose-gold Guess watches, made for both men and women; Timmy Woods’ cool blinged-out evening purses, perfect for Oscar Sunday’s red carpet stroll; Handmade Hearts’ pretty glass-blown heart pendants; Twisted Silver’s edgy jewelry; and the My Saint My Hero Benedictine Blessing bracelets, sure to bring protection and luck to all who wear them. And of course, the PK Chocolates were a big hit!

It was like a who’s who of past and present Hollywood at the bash, with everyone from William Shatner, Lou Ferrigno and Maria Conchita Alonso to Tommy Davidson, Dot Marie Jones, Eva LaRue, Katie Wagner and many other familiar faces gleefully heading home with bags overflowing with swag. It was a happy early Valentine’s Day celebration, indeed.
