A sleek decor with high-tech lighting and sound systems make this the crown jewel of the Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex. And, oh yes, it's the home of the Oscars.

The Kodak Theatre opened in November 2001 and has featured memorable performances by A-list performers (Celine Dion, Prince, Elvis Costello, Barry Manilow, American Ballet Theatre), awards events (ESPY Awards, "American Idol") and Val Kilmer's we-couldn't-forget-it-even-if-we-tried flop musical "The Ten Commandments." Guided tours offer the chance to see an Oscar statuette up close, sit where your favorite stars sat, and imagine making your own Academy Award acceptance speech. Don't forget to thank your favorite website.
