LA.COM Winners! - Best Original Love Song

Results Of The How F***ing Romantic Valentine Song Contest

A big thank you and many wet kisses to all the local boys and girls who participated in our very first, Valentine-inspired song competition, How F***ing Romantic.

The last few weeks brought together the truly smitten and the truly despondent, and the musical results varied from electro-soulgrooves, to homicidal longings, to pop industrial wishes, to one song that was entirely dead air (I was hoping that would get at least one vote...). Of course the singer/songwriters also represented with guitars and pianos and achy-breaky hearts. As if there’s any other kind.

LA.COM spent many sleepless nights weighing the merits of each submission (while simultaneously achieving moderate success in Wii Donkey Kong -- on MUTE, obviously), and the enthusiastic voting public has done the same.

Thanks for reading, thanks for voting, and great job to everyone who submitted music. You're the bees knees. :)

And now, the results show...

Charming and sweet, this graceful, lo-fi, ditty is British Invasion meets La Puente, with an acoustic guitar.

Honorable Mention!!!
Song and Wager
| Pulling The Light Down

Tim Bader’s earnest and pretty piano-ballad is a hopeful love song that skillfully avoids the pitfalls cheeseballness.
