Since opening its doors in 1964, the Whisky A Go Go has been instrumental in establishing the careers of everyone from Frank Zappa and Alice Cooper, to Mötley Crüe and Van Halen. It was also on the Whisky stage where in 1966, a little piece of rock music history was forged when the then unknown house band, The Doors, jammed with the then unknown Irish singer, Van Morrison, on “Gloria.” Nearly a half-century later, and the Whisky A Go Go is still an important venue for new and emerging acts to perform.
