About Red Bull Sound Space
What was once an office space packed with hum-drum cubicles is now home to a stage evoking the spirit of underground rock and roll.  KROQ listener donations of old audio equipment such as '40s-era radios, record players and blinged-out boomboxes were crafted into a piece of artwork that adorns the stage.  Since its launch in October 2011, the space has hosted Coldplay, The Black Keys, Bad Religion, Matt & Kim, The Fray, Of Monsters and Men, Keane, FUN, Falling in Reverse, Angels & Airwaves, Pennywise, Silversun Pickups, Neon Trees, Imagine Dragons, Metric, Serj Tankian, M83, Passion Pit, Grouplove, Slightly Stoopid, Fitz and the Tantrums (KROQ), as well as Maroon 5, Miguel, Flo Rida & Nelly Furtado (AMP).

About Portugal. The Man: Psychedelic indie rockers Portugal. The Man formed in Wasilla, Alaska back in 2004. High school friends John Gourley (frontman) and Zach Carothers (bass) originally formed the band as a side project after the break-up of their post-hardcore band Anatomy of a Ghost. The band is centered on Gourley's abstract musical approach resulting from his unique upbringing on the fringes of the Alaskan wilderness.
The band left Alaska and moved to Portland with the intent of recording and touring; their debut record Waiter: "You Vultures!" was eventually released in 2006. After going through several line-up changes, Kyle O'Quin, Noah Gersh, and Kane Ritchotte rounded out the band on keyboards, guitar, and drums respectively. To date, Portugal. The Man has released seven studio albums and three EPs. Their most recent record, Evil Friends, was released in early June and served as their first collaboration with acclaimed producer Danger Mouse.
