St. Patrick’s Day Guide
Ah, St. Patrick’s Day: March 17 is the only day in LA when you can dance a jig, drink ‘til you puke green, and your publicist doesn’t have to issue a statement on your behalf. So go ahead and kiss the blarney stone, carry a four-leaf clover, and find that pot o’ gold with all those pesky Skittles. (They’re magically delicious.)

DJ StoneRokk (nee Michael Stone) doesn’t have time for a girlfriend, between his weekly nights at Privilege (Tuesdays), Les Deux (Wednesdays) and Area (Saturdays) and his high-profile national gigs in cities like Las Vegas. But the girls on the dance floor are smitten with this Queens, NY transplant—and his intoxicating mixes of hip-hop, '80s and rock—anyway. —Alexandra Le Tellier

What’s your DJ style?
I always tell everyone I play good music and if you don’t you like it there’s something wrong with you. I’m not the cookie-cutter guy. Of course I am going to play what people want to hear, but I’ll always throw in songs people forgot about or wouldn’t normally hear at a club, like a Beatles song.

What’s your take on song requests?
To me, a request is someone telling me that the job I’m doing is not conducive to their good time. Usually the song request is the most popular song out, like Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack.” You know I’m going to play that. I’d rather get a request for MC Serch’s "Back to the Grill." The girl who asks me for that will have my heart in marriage.

What songs are you hooked on now?
I personally am more interested in the old stuff like The Four Seasons’s “Walk Like a Man.” Just fun old music.
