Located in the Sunset Strip structure that housed the ill-fated Billboard Live, Key Club has emerged as a state-of-the-art live music venue with futuristic audio, video and lighting technologies.

Although the club books acts as varied as Perry Farrell, Pennywise, Snoop Dogg and Prince, the crowd is generally filled with standard top-40 fans who seem as happy bouncing to Britney Spears as jamming along to Linkin Park. On non-performance nights, the bouncers can be bypassed with dinner reservations. Inside, two bars offer plenty of ways to liquor up (one sometimes serves oysters and martinis). The intimate room downstairs called the Plush Club is usually taken over by VIPs like buxom groupies Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra.—Alexandra Le Tellier
