The FactoryDoes this factory manufacture biceps? ![]() Does this factory manufacture biceps? Who leads? Who cares? The Factory got its start as a camera factory before becoming a military hardware facility during World War II. It then made its claim to fame as Frank Sinatra's private club. Now, honey, it's gay central. Technically, the venue is a cavernous 15,000-square-foot club. But unless there's a special event like a movie premiere party, it houses two separate dance spaces. Fridays at the Factory belongs to Popstarz, a fun-for-all pop night with the motto: "If you can't hum it, we don't play it." Next door, it's all about Girl Bar, the long-running and hugely successful lesbian night that now has offshoots in Las Vegas and Arizona. Other nights are a grab bag of hip-hop, R&B, reggaeton and pop, though the club(s) has also been known to put the music on hold to host a play instead.
