The quest for a night full of dancing and delicious libations ends at the beginning of Pier Plaza in Hermosa Beach.

The open doors at this Mediterranean-style restaurant and club are the first to welcome visitors to the line of bars along the pier. Diners enjoy Spanish-influenced cuisine and house sangria—it's served on tap—in the garden patio while watching the nighttime crowd swell outside. Tuesday nights offer live flamenco shows; Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays showcase live jazz on the patio. The restaurant turns into a club at 9pm on weekends and a line to get in is usually in place by 9:30pm. DJs pack the dance floors with a diverse crowd, mixing house and hip-hop in different rooms. —Sarah Spada
