Behind the thick brown doors, where legendary Hollywood hang Cinegrill once thrived, is an intimate playpen for the young, fabulous and moneyed.

The Dodd Mitchell-designed Teddy's inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel feels like a tiny wine cellar in the French countryside, with thick columns, arched ceilings and a brown leather-upholstered bar and matching couches. But it has the feel of a secret-society clubhouse. In its first incarnation, "Queen of the Night" Amanda Scheer Demme presided over the lounge and though it was the hottest ticket in town, her extremely exclusive door policy angered hotel guests and garnered bad blood everywhere from the Wall Street Journal to Defamer. When her contract was terminated, Teddy's lay dormant until Jason Pomeranc, whose company Thompson Hotels manages the Roosevelt, joined forces with Hartwell, Josh Richman and Shane Powers, the powerful promoters behind The Alliance. Together they are in a precarious position: They must create an exclusive venue where the Hilton sisters feel comfortable cavorting with Vincent Gallo, Jeremy Piven and Keanu Reeves while still allowing regular club-hoppers and hotel guests past the velvet rope.
