The laid-back crowd at Lola's can order wine and beer, but with drinks like The Star F**ker and Wicked Wahini on the martini menu, why bother?

Yes, Lola's invented the "original apple martini," and yes, the drink menu—which features other fruit-inspired libations such as the Toddies Big Banana Martini and Mrs. Millers Melon Martini—is actually longer than the food menu. But Lola's isn't just for lushes. After tossing back a Garlic Mashed Potato Martini (seriously!), the dining area tempts appetites with beef satay (marinated in watermelon BBQ sauce), parmesan-crusted halibut and baked macaroni. The interior sounds tacky when described (adobe and Mexican tile and leopard-print), but its actually quite cozy in here. After dinner—and the LA Lakers Purple Haze Martini— we like to continue the night with a game of pool. If we can still see straight. —Tara Tyson
