Halloween is celebrated year-round at this gothic neighborhood bar.

The foreboding name sounds more like a terrorist hideout than the Eastside hipster hang that it is. But owner Bobby Green uses the same kitschy cues from his Los Feliz favorite (Bigfoot Lodge) to create an underground neighborhood bar that attracts grown-up punks and artist types who favor black and Morrissey. (A healthy sense of humor helps to appreciate the spray-painted starry-night ceiling, foam rocks, hanging-moon lights and art-class cutouts of bats.) The drinks are reasonably priced, the benches comfortable and the patio expansive. An '80s-favoring jukebox features greatest hits from The Cure and The Smiths. —Patrick Green
