Just like its namesake, The Baked Potato may have a rough exterior, but inside it's hot and steamy, with live jazz and blues nightly and a full menu of taters served pretty much any way imaginable.

Even with its big yellow sign displaying a dancing tuber, The Baked Potato manages to remain an inconspicuous little neighborhood dive where everyone knows your name and what kind of potato you eat. The small space and candlelit tables create an intimate atmosphere in which patrons can enjoy their potato of choice—Hot Dog and Sauerkraut Potato, anyone?—only a few feet away from the night's musical act. The bar has made itself a home for a variety of sounds, from Latin jazz to fusion bands to blues groups. Regular weekly shows include jazz guitarist Teddy Zeigler's Monday Night Jammmz and the Screamin' Cocktail Hour on Tuesdays, featuring keyboardist Teddy Zig Zag Andreas, who invites all musically inclined members of the audience to join the band on-stage—and means it.—Tara Tyson
