The ballyhooed "cocktail nation" shows no sign of abating at Nic's, where more than 20 types of martinis bear clever names like "Ladies Who Lunch" and "Windex." The recipes are just as inventive, like the Nasatini (made with S. Guaro sugarcane liquor infused with cucumber) and Bijan's Smile (concocted of Stolichnaya Vanil vodka, cranberry juice and Licor 43). Booze also finds its way onto the dinner menu in options like the gnocchi, served with champagne cream, and the grilled radicchio salad drizzled with Blavod vodka. Monday through Saturday from 5pm to 7pm, the martinis and appetizers are served at happy-hour prices; the DJ spins lounge music on Thursdays, and there's live jazz Friday and Saturday nights. As the diverse entertainment signifies, Nic's can accommodate just about any lounging mood: There's a main dining room, a breezy outdoor patio and a "V-Zone" lounge just outside of—wait for it—the Vodbox, a walk-in freezer that's only 10 degrees. After putting on a faux leopard-print overcoat, patrons step inside to sip flights of premium vodka like Han, a grain and barley vodka from Korea that's been distilled so many times it's as smooth as drinking water.
