Your pulse is racing, your head is throbbing and women in black, skin-tight nurse's uniforms are buzzing about. Thankfully, the only transfusion you'll need is a soju cocktail.

Picture an emergency room where stripper-like nurses serve alcohol and the only urgency comes from the DJ's thumping beats. A doctor-and-nurse fetishist's dream, Good Hurt is decorated with first-aid kits, but is mercifully not lit like an operating room (in fact, it's rather dim). Latin, hip-hop, Brit-pop and soul share spins with live music by the likes of rapper Coolio and his new band, the Replacements (not the Replacements from the '80s, of course) along with local independent bands. The bar's beer-and-wine-only license means that all the mixed cocktails are made with a potato spirit called soju; they have cute names like "Black and Blue" and "Transfusion." Sponge baths, however, are not on the menu.—Jeff Miller
