Ruby TuesdaysOn January 02, 2007 Age-ain't-nuthin'-but-a-number ![]() LA's rock scene may have mellowed since promoter Joseph Brooks ruled the Sunset Strip in the late '80s, but he's come back to reclaim his throne. And the kids are set to bow before him.Brooks brings the kids back to the street for his all ages Tuesday promotion Ruby. Kids clad in their finest Hot Topic gear break curfew in droves for this age-ain't-nuthin'-but-a-number night—barely any of the kids in the bands are legal, but most are already veterans of the Strip. Disco-punk outfit The Adored kicked off the series in April 2004; the stint lead to air time on Indie 103.1 FM and mentions in Filter magazine. And The Blood Arm's confrontational, sinister melodies earned that band an invitation to tour with Franz Ferdinand in 2005. Other acts have included indie darlings Living Things and We Are Scientists.—Alexandra Le Tellier
