Nestled in the sweet spot just outside of STK, and a stone's throw from eatery du jour Nobu, Coco de Ville promises to be this summer's celebrity vortex.

Created by The One Group (masterminds behind One Sunset and STK), the lounge's name comes from a whimsical-cum-elusive character whose taste veers toward wildly eccentric.  Clearly, Coco's formula is working, having already gained considerable L.A. club cred with visits by the Beckhams and Kate Beckinsale in the first week, and a crowd of PYTs howling for entry outside the velvet rope.

Unfortunately, downing a steak at STK doesn't promise entry to this small, jewel-hued club designed by New York's iCrave studio.  If you're one of the chosen few to make it inside (capacity tops out at 150), you'll be privy to a mish mash of décor, including yellow and hot pink striped couches, a red and mustard spotted ceiling and hanging ornate brown cages holding (fake) birds.  Beside the multitude of tables and banquettes for bottle service, there are 3 swings facing the bar–done up in bright, swirly fabrics–and four benches on the terrace for the masses to sit upon.  STK's own bar and lounge backs up directly next to Coco's tiny terrace, with only a thin rope separating the two allowing restaurateur-goers to happily ogle their next-door neighbors.

Right now the crowd is a mixed bunch: part trendy Westsiders in skimpy satin dresses, part hipsters in flannels and skinny jeans and some older gents in attendance to ensure their younger dates don't go thirsty.  While there is still some work to be done–the single-stall restrooms have no male/female signage–guests seem not to care, contentedly dancing to the Top 40 playlist and ordering up drinks from waitresses in turquoise satin, bow-outfitted uniforms.

Currently, the space is only open Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with the remainder of the week reserved for private parties.  The only way in may be to name-drop and say you know Coco herself. — Heather Rabkin
