It's New Year's...siiigh. For some, it's time to lament on all of 2007's regretful rendezvous. For others, it's a last chance to make some beer-goggled bad decisions before resolving to stop making bad decisions in 2008. For all, it's time to figure out where to spend the last seconds of 2007. – Stephanie Ocampo Eastsider New Year's GuideDowntown offers Justice, a Giant Ferris wheel and everything in between
1.
Giant Maximus - LA.com SponsoredThe name says it all. Crowned as this “Planet’s Largest 21 and over New Year’s Eve Celebration”, a Giant party by any other name would not be as, umm, Giant. The famous ferris wheel, other carnival rides, games, and 3 climate-controlled (read: it’ll be warm, don’t worry) talent-packed tents will fill the 7 acre lot in Downtown with 10,000+ once-ravers and hipsters that decided not to go to Hard (see below). This year’s line up includes Tiesto, MSTRKRFT, Robbie Rivera, Roger Sanchez, Kaskade (on a stage sponsored by LA.com), Z-Trip, Lazaro Casanova, and Franki Chan.
2.
HARDIt'll be hard to find better booked talent than the lineup at the first annual HARD New Year's Eve Music Festival. There, we said it. Hipsters will invade Downtown's Art District to see Justice, 2 Live Crew, Steve Aoki, A-Trak, Busy P, and a roster of some of L.A.'s favorite party DJ's including Skeet Skeet, Chris Holmes, and the From Elsewhere crew. Top all that off with a midnight countdown by none other than Peaches and you have the perfect spot to D.A.N.C.E in the New Year.
3.
