Further pioneering and refining the nightlife milieu, SBE and Philippe Starck are an unstoppable force with their latest collaboration, S Bar.

Envisioned as a neighborhood spot where locals can grab a drink without all the Hollywood hoopla, S Bar's interior design reflects SBE's vision for that intimate local lounge while still retaining designer Philippe Starck's signature swank.  Groups of S Bar-hoppers are seated in mismatched chairs at a giant white cross-shaped table to maximize the socializing and minimize the pretentiousness.  Wall-sized canvases with photos by French photographer Patrick Tourneboeuf frame the whimsical room lit by colorful upside-down lamps.  And if that isn't trippy enough, Alice in Wonderland (and other choice movies) are playing on a TV in the bathroom…on the ceiling.

Despite how popular this new bar on the block is sure to become, SBE says it's unlikely to become the sterotypical, promoter-driven hotspot with a cooler-than-thou clipboard wielder at the door.  Everyone at S Bar is treated like a VIP, and everyone is welcome inside, so long as there's space in the tiny (read: tiiiiny!) bar.  The staff at S Bar was – dare we say – the most accommodating and friendly staff we've ever encountered in Hollywood.  And the drinks on the Fluid de Strange specialty cocktail menu are as delish as they are creative.  Try the Pepper Delirious, a staff fave, with hand-pressed yellow bell pepper, organic mint, gin and freshly squeezed lime juice.  Hmmm, no one really knows what the S in S Bar stands for, so let's just pretend it stands for Superfabulous – because that's exactly what it is. – Stephanie Ocampo
