What’s a holiday season in L.A. without fireworks? Lots of them! OK, I know what you're thinking. Fireworks should only be blown off on the Fourth of July, right? Wrong! Because for several years now the good people over at the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors have been hosting a spectacular New Year's Eve fireworks show in Marina del Rey. This year's festivities begin at 11:59pm, with what's sure to be a fiery (get it?) 30-second countdown leading into 2012. Hotels and restaurants throughout Marina del Rey are also offering New Year's Eve specials, so why not make an evening of it while you're at it? Besides, it sure beats watching the ball drop from Times Square on your T.V. I mean, don't people in New York know it's only 9pm?
