Mark it 8, dude.  Lebowski Fest LA 09  rolled into town yesterday, and anxious achievers lined up on Wilshire Blvd waiting for the Movie Party at the Wiltern to begin.

Early tragedy struck when a lobby bar was stricken with a milk drought during the height of White Russian season.  Luckily, emergency rations were acquired before hysteria could spread through the crowd. The festival carried on without incident.

For the occasion, the general admission space downstairs was rowed with chairs; each section arranged with dude-like accuracy (ie: G2, G4, G5, C13, G33, X9, L44...).

Cast members made wide-smiled appearances, Jeff Bridges welcomed festival goers with a video greeting, and together we recited a call-and-response of The Dude's Prayer ("...lead us not into Simi Valley...").

Then 9-year old Yuto Miyazawa -- a pre-pubescent badass who wears a CBGB shirt and shreds a flying V -- delivered legit covers of "Highway Star," "Free Bird," and Ozzy.

The 2-day event continues this evening with a Bowling Party at Cal Bowl in Lakewood.  OVER THE LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
