Everyone agrees trees are a good thing. TreePeople, an LA nonprofit organization, helps them thrive in our urban environment, and encourages green things almost everywhere.

Since its inception in 1973, TreePeople has been responsible for the planting of more than two million trees in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. With a well-coordinated fleet of volunteers, the organization combats smog and deforestation by bringing greenery to urban spaces. In school programs, it teaches conservation and environmental leadership to a new generation of tree-planters. The organization operates out of Coldwater Canyon Park, a 45-acre city park home to hiking trails, panoramic views, TreePeople's Seedling Nursery, a sustainably designed conference center and the S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre. Throughout the year, TreePeople sponsors workshops (topics range from tree pruning to pest management), full-moon hikes, and volunteer planting events. Suits us to a tree.
