Riders of any level treat themselves to hour-long horse trots—and 90-minute night rides that include a Mexican-restaurant pitstop.

Would-be cowboys and cowgirls saddle up at this LA dude ranch as early as 9am, but the Ranch is most famous for its sunset dinner ride. The tour includes a tasty fiesta at Viva Fresh, an inexpensive Mexican restaurant (dinners cost $6-$12 per person), where legitimate cowboys and -girls wearing Wranglers and ten-gallon hats can be found two-stepping to a live country band. The margaritas are tasty and potent, but don't get too comfy with Senor Cuervo, the horse won't ride itself back to the ranch after dinnertime—nobody wants to get slapped with a RUI (riding under the influence). Oddly enough, the ranch is just ten minutes from the Sunset Strip, but unlike riding the mechanical bull at the Saddle Ranch, this adventure is well worth the sore butt come morning.
