One need not be the reincarnation of John Wayne in order to mosey along these scenic Santa Monica Mountain trails.

Situated on top of Old Topanga Canyon Road (where the Pony Express was located in the old days), trails aplenty await beginner and advanced riders who wish to saddle up and trot into the sunset. Rides range from one to two hours long, and groups are usually small and intimate—there are never more than six people. Hour-and-a-half full-moon rides are also offered (reserve ahead for those), as are sunset rides which depart every day around 6pm. Guests should come in appropriate attire, which means pants and sneakers or boots; riding in open-toed shoes like flip-flops or sandals is not allowed.
