Well known for its gay-friendly area cheekily nicknamed "Ginger Rogers Beach," this section of sand is a break from the mob scene adjacent to Santa Monica Pier.

A large lot of volleyball courts accommodates athletes, as does the South Bay Bike Path. On the beach is an old-fashioned stone building that houses one of the nicer beach restrooms. And there's a hot dog stand! Patrick's Road House is nearby, a popular spot for a post-beach brew.
